Boarding Conditions

1. For the well being of all boarders, cats must be fully vaccinated against Cat Flu and Feline Enteritis as a minimum requirement, homeopathic vaccinations are NOT acceptable under our Licence conditions

2. A cat’s first course of vaccinations me be completed not less than two weeks before they come to stay
An up to date vaccination certificate must be shown at time of admittance. We are unable to admit a cat that is brought to us without a vaccination certificate. If you are unable to locate it please request that your vet emails us proof of vaccination before your cat is due to stay with us.

3. No cat suffering from or suspected to be suffering from any infections or contagious disease will be accepted. The proprietor reserves the right to refuse admission to any cat showing signs of ill health.

4. For the protection of other boarders, we reserve the right to refuse to board any animal that we consider is unfit, or unsuitable for boarding. We want all our boarders to be as happy and well as possible.

5. All cats must be treated against fleas and worms before entering the cattery. If it becomes necessary to provide flea or worm treatment during your cats stay, the cost of this will be added to your invoice. It is the owners responsibility to inform us of any allergies your cat may have to flea or worm products.

6. In the event of illness or suspected illness you give us consent to consult a Veterinary Surgeon and any treatment considered advisable will be undertaken at your expense. You also give consent to your nominated veterinarian to share medical information about your cat with Southwinds Cattery.

7. Unfortunately, we cannot board cats over six months old that have not been neutered (special arrangement may be possible).

8. All cats must come to the cattery in a carrier which will stay with them for the duration of their stay. We recommend that you bring your cats in a secure rigid carrier. We do not recommended fabric holdall type carriers as they are difficult to disinfect if a cat is sick or has a toilet accident on the way to us.

9. To secure a booking a £25.00 non refundable booking fee must be paid within 7 days of booking or your requested dates will be released.

10. During peak times two weeks’ notice is required for cancellations, otherwise the full stay will be payable.

11. Booking alterations will only be accepted, subject to availability.

12. Payment is strictly on or before the day of arrival. A full day’s board is charged for the days of arrival and departure. In the event of owners returning before the end of the period for which the cat is booked no refund will be due. For long term bookings over 1 month, accounts must be settled in monthly intervals.

13. If medication needs to be administered, this will be undertaken provided your cat accepts the medication without resistance.

14. If for any reason any boarded cats fail to be collected within fourteen days of the specified departure date and no agreement is reached between the cats’ owners and the proprietor of Southwinds Cattery, we reserve the right to make alternative arrangements.

15. Whilst every care and precaution is taken during boarding, responsibility can only be accepted at the owners’ risk.

16. Images of your cat/s may be displayed on our Facebook page. These will be anonymous and not linked with the owner. Please advise if you do not wish images of your cat to be taken.
